Battle of the Titans 7v7 Tournament Rules

Each team must register a minimum of 7 players.
Maximum roster size is 12 players per team.
Only players listed on the team’s official roster may participate.
Players cannot play for multiple teams during the tournament.
Matches are played 7v7, including the goalkeeper.
Substitutions may only be made using players on the team’s registered roster.

The tournament is single elimination. Once a team loses, they are eliminated from the tournament.
Matches consist of two 25-minute halves.
Halftime is 5 minutes.
Approximately 5 minutes will be provided between matches for teams to clear the field and the next teams to prepare.
There are no offsides.
If a match is tied at the end of regulation, the match will proceed directly to a penalty-kick shootout.
Semifinal and championship matches may follow a different format. Rules for those matches will be announced separately.

Teams are expected to be present and ready to play at their scheduled kickoff time.
A team must have at least 4 registered players present and ready to begin a match.
If a team does not have at least 4 players ready at the scheduled kickoff, the opposing team will be awarded 1 goal for each full minute of delay.
The late penalty is capped at 5 goals.
Once at least 4 registered players are ready, the match will begin with the accumulated score.
Additional registered players may join their team after arriving.
If a team cannot field at least 4 players within 10 minutes of the scheduled kickoff time, the match is an automatic forfeit.

Referees have final discretion regarding fouls, cards, penalty kicks, and other decisions during play.
No slide tackling is permitted.
Attempting a slide tackle results in an automatic yellow card, regardless of whether contact is made or the ball is won.
Regular fouls are restarted with an indirect free kick.
There are no direct free kicks.
A foul that qualifies for a penalty kick under the tournament rules will result in a PK.
Whether a foul qualifies for a penalty kick is determined by the referee.

Yellow Card: Official warning to the player.
Red Card: The player is removed for the remainder of the match.
A team receiving a red card must play one player down for the remainder of that match.
Fighting is prohibited and may result in removal from the tournament.

When the ball crosses either sideline, play restarts with a throw-in.
Standard corner-kick and goal-line restarts apply when the ball crosses the end line.
Referees determine possession for all restarts.

Goalkeepers may use their hands within the designated goalkeeper area.
A goalkeeper cannot pick up a deliberate back-pass from a teammate.
Goalkeepers may kick the ball beyond midfield.
When distributing the ball by hand, the ball must touch the goalkeeper’s half of the field before crossing midfield.
Other standard goalkeeper rules apply unless otherwise stated by tournament officials.

Players, coaches, spectators, volunteers, and referees must be treated respectfully.
No fighting.
Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior toward referees, players, volunteers, or spectators will not be tolerated.
Referee decisions must be respected.
Players and spectators must remain outside the playing area unless participating in the match.
Spectators must remain clear of the sidelines and areas designated for referees, players, and tournament staff.
Tournament Authority
Tournament officials and referees have final authority regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these rules. Situations not specifically covered above will be handled at the discretion of tournament officials.
Taylor High School Facility Rules
This event is being held on school property. All participants and spectators are expected to respect the facility.
No alcohol.
No smoking.
No vaping.
Respect the turf, equipment, buildings, and surrounding school property.
Follow instructions from tournament staff and school personnel.
Please dispose of trash properly and help keep the facility clean.
